At United Response, we are looking for a Senior Support Worker / Team Leader to join our services in South Tyneside. In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll work alongside our Registered Manager to guide a dedicated staff team, ensure high standards of care, and help people with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs live independent, fulfilling lives.

This is the ideal stepping stone for someone looking to move into social care management with full training, mentoring, and support every step of the way.

You will balance hands-on support (30 hours on rota) with dedicated leadership and development time (7.5 hours off-rota) to help oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the service.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Delivering high-quality, person-centred support on shift as a positive role model

Leading, supervising, and mentoring support worker team members

Supporting rota planning, shift handovers, and day-to-day operations

Assisting with safeguarding, risk management, and CQC compliance standards

A solid understanding of safeguarding and safe working practices

Strong communication and organisational skills

Flexibility to participate in an on-call rota and travel between locations when required

Essential Qualification: NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent), or a commitment to working towards it.

Blue Light Card discounts and Costco membership (T&Cs apply)

Free occupational health, physiotherapy, counselling, and wellbeing support
