Join Our Team
At United Response, we’re looking for a motivated and qualified Property Surveyor to join our Housing Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced surveying professional who enjoys working independently while making a real difference by helping to maintain safe, high-quality homes and properties.
Working remotely, you’ll manage a varied portfolio of residential and commercial properties across the South East and East Midlands, with occasional travel to other locations across the UK.
Purpose of the role
To provide professional surveyor services for residential and commercial portfolio to cover demand throughout the south east and east midlands areas, with occasional wider national coverage working as a team player.
About the role
As Property Surveyor, you’ll provide expert surveying advice and technical support across our property portfolio. You’ll identify building defects, recommend practical solutions, and help ensure our homes and buildings remain safe, compliant and well maintained.
This is an ideal role for someone with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out property inspections across residential and commercial buildings.
Identify building defects, diagnose issues and recommend effective remedial works.
Provide professional surveying advice to colleagues, contractors and stakeholders.
Support the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance programmes.
Ensure properties meet relevant health and safety, compliance and quality standards.
Produce clear inspection reports and technical recommendations.
Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Housing Team to deliver an excellent property service.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with excellent people skills.
You’ll have:
A sound understanding of residential and commercial construction methods, building defects and property maintenance.
The ability to identify issues and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to colleagues, contractors, tenants and on-site teams.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload across multiple locations.
A collaborative approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer-focused services.
Essential Qualifications
You will hold one of the following:
A degree or diploma accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), or
A qualification accredited by the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE).
