The young adults we support enjoy activities and keen to learn new skills and improve exist ones so this position will involve participating and taking them for activities e.g., playing rounders’ and taking them swimming.

We are currently recruiting for a Support Worker to join one of our supported living service based in Ashford, Kent. You will have the opportunity of supporting young people with a mix of needs and disabilities as part of a fantastically passionate and dedicated team that always aims to provide active and positive behaviour support.

Here at United Response we are driven by our mission to provide person-centred support and as such you will have a varied role which will involve having a positive and creative approach to support work, you will be responsible for:

  • Modelling good support
  • Supporting Management service
  • Mentoring members of the team
  • Standard support worker duties
  • Providing active support
  • Personal care
  • Accompanying individuals on leisure activities and into the community
  • Working on shift at least once a week

To be a successful Lead Senior Support Worker you must firstly be passionate about supporting people with disabilities, have extensive experience of working with the social care sector and share our values of being united, responsive, creative, honest and strong. You should be a patient and resilient individual who is willing to invest time in getting to know the people we support and understand what care best supports their needs. Ideal candidates will have some previous experience of working in a more senior role and should be confident in their ability to provide high quality service and mentor others. As a Lead Senior Support Worker you will also be expected to have a good level of IT literacy to enable you to perform the administrative aspects of the role.
