JOB COACH (Retail)
LOCATION: Based in Totnes with travel throughout Devon
FUNCTION: Employment
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Supported Internship/CEIAG Manager
ACCOUNTABLE FOR: Delivering training & support programmes to facilitate individuals’ progression
HOURS: 15 hours per week
SALARY: £25k FTE plus essential car allowance £1353.42

United Response is a leading national charity providing support to young people and adults with special educational needs (SEN), learning disabilities and mental health needs. We have a fantastic opportunity to join us as a Job Coach Tutor with a retail specialism, working as part of Positively Unique, our online shop creating personalised gifts and mindfulness products. Based at our Boatshed site in Totnes, Positively Unique works with small, local suppliers and provides a creative and engaging environment for both staff and the people we support.

Who we need
Delivery of the programme is through a mix of education and work-related activity, both 1:1 and group work.
Making it happen – your role
The successful candidate will:
-
Through community delivery, effectively engage with young people to motivate and encourage participation and meet project outcomes

Hold a full UK driving licence
-
Through employer engagement and in-work support, ensure sustainable integration into the labour market for young people aged 16–24, including those with EHCPs and complex needs

Plan and deliver person-centred programmes to support individuals in overcoming barriers, including confidence building, CV writing, job searching and interview skills
In addition, within Positively Unique, you will:

Support the day-to-day running of the online shop, including managing orders and updating the website

Create and produce personalised products using equipment such as sublimation printers, heat press machines, Cricut machines and embroidery equipment

Carry out quality checks to ensure all products meet a high standard

Research current trends to help grow sales and diversify the product range

Support and coach students and individuals accessing the service through DWP contracts, helping them develop skills within a real working environment
You will also:

Have experience working in an educational setting with young people with SEN, including those with social and emotional needs

Have good IT and self-management skills, and a flexible approach

Be able to market individuals or services and understand the supported employment process

Ideally have knowledge of social enterprises
