Are you passionate about working with young people? Are you looking for a way to positively impact people’s lives?

United Response is a leading national charity providing support to young people and adults with special educational needs (SEN), learning disabilities and mental health needs. We believe in championing the right of disabled people to live, work, socialise and participate in the community, free of discrimination and unnecessary boundaries.

We have a fantastic opportunity to join us as a Job Coach Tutor. If you have experience of CEIAG (Careers, Education, Advice & Guidance), a full UK driving licence, and a passion for inclusive employment, we would love to hear from you.

We are seeking a Job Coach who specialises in Employer Engagement to develop our partnerships across the Employment Team in Devon and Cornwall. The role will involve building strong relationships with businesses, conducting workplace health and safety checks to ensure suitability for the people we support, and developing a portfolio of inclusive employers committed to providing meaningful Supported Employment placements. You’ll identify opportunities for Supported Internships, Apprenticeships, Employer Visits, and Work Experience, helping to create inclusive, person-centred pathways to employment for all the people we support.

This post is a hybrid position, with programme delivery across the area through a mix of education and work-related activity, including 1:1 and group work.

The successful candidate will effectively engage young people in the community to motivate and encourage participation and meet project outcomes. You will hold a full UK driving licence and use employer engagement and in-work support to ensure sustainable integration into the labour market for young people aged 16–24, especially those with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), including individuals with complex needs or from marginalised communities. You will plan and deliver a person-centred, accredited programme that helps young people overcome personal barriers through interventions such as confidence building, CV writing, job search and interview skills. You will provide support in travel training, community projects, health and wellbeing, cooking, work tasters, internships, and job trials. You should have experience working in educational settings with young people with special educational needs and behavioural challenges. You must also be flexible, have good IT and self-management skills, and an understanding of supported employment processes and social enterprise models.

In return for your passion and commitment, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including 28 days paid annual leave including bank holidays (pro rata for part time), increasing with service, pension contributions, work-life balance and flexible working options, free access to occupational health, physiotherapy, counselling and advice services, fully paid training and nationally recognised qualifications, travel to work scheme (season ticket loan), online discount platform with over 3,500 retailers, and a refer-a-friend scheme.

You will receive a full induction and be supported by experienced colleagues and national specialists in best practice, inclusion, and health and safety. If you’re motivated to make a difference, great at building relationships, and believe in creating inclusive pathways to employment, we’d love to hear from you.

United Response is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff to share this commitment. Successful applicants will be subject to appropriate vetting and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
