Head of Business Development
Salary: £70,000 Location: Remote (UK-based)Hours: 35 per weekContract: Permanent

About the Role
To lead the Business Development team in securing sustainable growth for United Response. You will shape and deliver strategies that retain existing contracts, win new opportunities ensuring our work creates lasting positive outcomes for people and communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing Business Development team aligned to organisational goals.
- Develop and manage a pipeline of tenders, bids, and contracts with local authorities, NHS and otherpublic sector commissioners.
- Oversee the end-to-end bid management process — from opportunity scanning to tender submission and negotiation.
- Champion co-production and service design, ensuring innovative, person-centred service models.
- Embed social value and ESG principles into all proposals to enhance impact and competitiveness.
- Build strong relationships with commissioners, funders, and strategic partners.
- Support financial forecasting, growth reporting, and strategic decision-making at Executive level.
About You
- Proven experience in business development leadership within social care, healthcare, or publicly funded services.
- Track record in winning tenders, contract management, andsustainable income growth.
- Strong understanding of commissioning environments, procurement frameworks, and public sector funding.
- Skilled in bid writing, stakeholder engagement, andstrategic partnerships.
- Excellent communication, financial acumen, and project management skills.
- Passion for person-centred services, co-production, andsocial impact.
