Job Title: Business Intelligence Manager

Contract: Permanent

United Response are looking for a skilled and forward-thinking Business Intelligence Engineer to design and deliver high-quality BI solutions that turn data into trusted, accessible insight across the organisation. You’ll develop robust datasets, semantic models, and reporting solutions that support both operational performance and strategic decision-making.

Working closely with data engineers and stakeholders, you’ll translate business requirements into effective, scalable data solutions while championing best practice in reporting, governance, and self-service analytics. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring colleagues, improving data quality, and helping to build a strong data-driven culture across the organisation.

What we are looking for:

We’re looking for someone with strong Power BI expertise, including advanced DAX, SQL, data modelling, Power Query, and visualisation best practices. You’ll have experience developing reliable reporting solutions, working with data engineering teams, and creating clear, user-focused insights that support decision-making.

You should be confident communicating complex data concepts to non-technical audiences, mentoring others, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience with data warehousing, governance, ETL/data pipelines, and agile delivery methods would be beneficial, alongside a passion for improving data quality and organisational data maturity.

Experience within the charity, care, or education sectors is desirable, as is a collaborative, values-driven approach aligned with United Response’s mission.

While not essential, we’d welcome candidates with relevant qualifications or certifications such as Microsoft Power BI certifications, or training in data visualisation, storytelling, or user-centred dashboard design. A degree in a related field such as Data Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or Business Analytics would also be advantageous. Most importantly, we value proven experience and a strong track record of delivering impactful BI solutions.
