United Response is seeking an accounts payable finance assistant, to ensure purchase ledger invoices are processed accurately and efficiently within the organisation’s accounting system. The role supports the integrity of the accounts payable function, including preparing BACS payment runs and completing month-end accruals in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and post supplier invoices and expense claims accurately, ensuring correct coding and approvals.
- Manage and reconcile credit card and cash transactions, preparing and uploading journals.
- Monitor finance inboxes and respond to queries promptly and professionally.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Support month-end processes, including reports and reconciliations.
- Work collaboratively within the finance team and assist with ad hoc duties, providing support to the Finance Team Manager as required.
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a finance or purchase ledger role, using a computerised accounts package
- Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
- AAT (or equivalent) level education, including GCSE Maths
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of financial data
- Well organised, able to prioritise workload and work independently
- Confident in resolving queries and providing a customer-focused service
- Positive, can-do attitude and ability to work collaboratively
